Until Things Get Back To Normal …
Due to the situation with COVID-19 and in compliance with recommendations from the Centers for Disease Control (CDC), and our nation’s leaders, we have cancelled ALL SERVICES and MINISTRIES at church facilities as of March 18 until further notice.
Philippians 2:3-4 says, “Do nothing out of selfish ambition or vain conceit, but in humility consider others better than yourselves. Each of you should look not only to your own interests, but also to the interests of others.“
The safety and health of our congregation, as well as our neighbors and guests, is our deepest concern, and we intend to do everything possible to help minimize and prevent the spread of this deadly virus. Our elders and staff are closely monitoring the situation and will make the decision to resume normal operations when we’re confident that it is safe to do so.
Services and ministries include, but are not limited to:
- Worship Services
- Sunday School
- Bible Studies
- Small Group Meetings
- Wednesday Night Take-Out Meals
- Youth Programs
- Groups that use our facilities for occasions such as baby showers, birthday parties, weddings, clubs, or organizational meetings
During this time, we encourage you and your family to have devotional and communion times together in the comfort and safety of your own homes. For devotional materials and other useful resources, we encourage you to refer to the links provided on our website. RightNow Media is especially useful.
Following is an update on how we plan to continue ministering during this period of social distancing:
We will continue to provide MESSAGES and COMMUNION MEDITATIONS on the website. Simply click on “A Communion Meditation” or similar heading located on the homepage to watch these recordings.
We will be providing resources to help our TEENS and CHILDREN stay connected to our ministry. Kyle and Jessica are working on resources to help parents minister to their kids through this difficult time. Visit the Alive Student Ministries page or the YouTube link on our website’s homepage for Kyle’s video messages.
Prior to the shut-down, Jessica had been using the resources at RightNow Media to great effect. There are many videos produced specifically for young children in the RNM library. We’ve given all our members free access to this resource and encourage you all to use it often. Please contact Jessica if you need additional resources for your kids.
We encourage each of you to reach out to one another during this time – members as well as friends and neighbors. Give them a call or utilize various forms of social media to stay in touch and check on one another regularly. We especially need to be diligent about contacting our older and higher-risk members to insure that that their needs are being met. If you are aware of anyone who needs assistance, please let the office know and we will do our best to assist.
Our PRAYER LIST will be posted on the website as a password-protected document. You may call the office for the password. If you already have the password, please share it with other members. Pray for those you see listed as well as for one another. If you have additions or changes to the prayer list, please let the office know. We’re working to make an online form available soon for submission of prayer requests to the office.
We want to encourage people to continue GIVING through tithes, gifts, and offerings. You can do so by mailing a check to the church or by transferring funds from your bank. We are also working to develop an online giving platform that will make giving even more convenient.
Again, we are asking that everyone please refrain from VISITING the church facilities or the church office during this time. Our staff will continue working to meet ministry needs and to make the shut down as smooth as possible; but we want to keep them as safe as possible. If you have an emergency, please contact the church office at 276-957-1814. You can also contact Dave at 276-340-3960 or Kyle at 740-390-9005.
We’re looking forward to the day when we can all gather together again.
Stay safe. Be blessed.
